The following shall constitute a contract of employment made on __, between herein referred to as client, and Bob Shimer, 116 Willowood Lane, Fishers, IN 46038 herein referred to artist.
SECTION 1. EMPLOYMENT OF ARTIST
Client hereby engages artist to perform at , and artist hereby accepts such employment on the terms set forth in this contract.
SECTION 2. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
The term of employment shall be on the day or days here specified: ____________ .
SECTION 3. COMPENSATION
In consideration of artist's services, client agrees to pay artist the sum of at the conclusion of the event at which the artist has actually performed. If artist fails to appear, or is incapacitated from rendering a performance through sickness or otherwise, artist shall not receive any compensation.
SECTION 2. DUTIES OF ARTIST
Artist shall provide his/her services in a competent manner, arrive and perform at times specified between the parties, abide by all reasonable rules and requirements that client shall make, and as long as client fully performs its obligations hereunder, render services exclusively for client during the term of this contract.
SECTION 5. TRANSPORTATION
Artist agrees to provide his/her own transportation to the event however, parking arrangements/fees will be provided/paid by the client.
SECTION 6. LODGING
Client agrees to provide lodging and be responsible for making necessary reservations and shall be responsible for lodging costs. Lodging in a private home is acceptable to the artist and where such lodging has been arranged by client for the artist, client makes no warranty concerning the safety or habitability of the accommodations.
SECTION 9. PUBLICITY
Client will arrange for any publicity that the clients deems appropriate for the event at which the artist performs, however the artist agrees to provide or pose for customary and usual photographs to be used for publicity. An 8x10 color photograph will be provided by the artist if desired by the client. Clip art and other promotional material are available from my web site www.storyvent.com.
SECTION 8. SALES OF RECORDINGS
Client agrees to offer for sale copies of artist's recordings, if provided by artist. Artist agrees to allow client to retain twenty percent (20 %) of all net sales of artist's tape recordings sold during the concert or festival.
SECTION 9. RECORDING OF EVENTS
Where the artist's performance at an event is recorded, in whole or in part, artist hereby releases client to use such recordings for its archives only. If an artist's performances are recorded for other purposes, client agrees to obtain an additional release from the artist prior to the use of any such recordings.
SECTION 10. TERMINATION
Either party may terminate this contract by giving the other party at least two (2) weeks notice in writing. This contract shall automatically terminate without further notice at the end of the term of employment as specified in SECTION 2.
SECTION 11. INDEMNIFICATION
Artist agrees to indemnify client against all loss or damage that artist may suffer as a result of being engaged by client.

I use Word and also use two columns so it all fits on one page. If it is necessary to use more than one page make sure that the header and/or footer contain critical information and it would be good to have at least an initial section. Getting it all on one page makes life much simpler and cleaner.
