Corsica
May 25, 2005 Wednesday we are at Ajaccio, Corsica

Our guide has done a semester of high school at North Central HS in Indianapolis. We began with a drive along the Cours Napoleon, to see the church of St Roch, the Prefecture and the English Quarter of Ajaccio. At Austerlitz Square, Napoleon Bonaparte played as a child. Then a pleasant drive to the Sanguinaires Islands, past an interesting cemetery, the house of Tino Rossi, and many beautiful beaches. On a 1-1/2 hour walking tour of Ajaccio, we passed de Gaulle Square, the Cathedral, Napoleon's house and the Town Hall.
